Corporate Responsibility
As a member of the business community in particular and of society at large, ubeon recognizes it has a corporate responsibility (CR).
In order to integrate corporate responsibility in ubeon’s activities, we have defined a CR policy. This policy will serve as a reference point for ourselves and for our stakeholders with respect to the values that determine how we operate our business and how we build and maintain relationships with the world in which we operate.
The CR policy applies throughout the ubeon partnership and governs our approach to all our activities.
ubeon’s CR philosophy
Because we know that tomorrow's success depends on the trust we build today, we strive to listen with great attention to our stakeholders with a view to understanding their expectations and finding a harmonious co-existence of all interests in a sustainable way. Therefore, the central idea of sustainability is incorporated in our vision and mission, behavior, operations, advice to our customers and relationships with our stakeholders.
Corporate Covenance
We want to conduct our business according to rigorous ethical, professional and legal standards in all respects. Therefore, we have adopted and implemented a code of conduct based on integrity, openness, mutual respect and equivalence. We acknowledge that these principles contribute to building sustainable relationships with our stakeholders and that such relationships are key to achieving sustainable growth.
Corporate Operations
Since we have decided to “walk our talk," we are gradually integrating the principles of sustainability in our company investments, day-to-day operations and initiatives towards our stakeholders and the business community at large (e.g. through education). We have formally subscribed to the ten principles of the UN Global Compact (www.unglobalcompact.org) meaning that we commit to applying them in our operations.
These principles, in the areas of human rights, labor, the environment and anti-corruption, enjoy universal consensus and are derived from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Labor Organization's Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, the Rio Declaration on Environment and Development and the United Nations Convention Against Corruption.
Advice to our customers
At ubeon we strive to integrate the principles of sustainability in our advisory work towards our customers and motivate them to adopt sustainability in their organizations as well. We offer them our services out of an attitude of integrity, quality and honest care.
Relationships with our stakeholders
We recognize that our staff has a key role in the smooth running of our organization. We treat them respectfully and offer them, next to a healthy work environment, correct remuneration and opportunities for development and growth. We value our suppliers as partners who help us in achieving our sustainable goals. We treat them with integrity and encourage and support them in their pursuit of sustainability. We strive to constantly reduce our impact on the environment through applying innovative and sustainable techniques. We are committed to serving the community through individual partners’ initiatives of community involvement and by transmitting the message of sustainability through role modeling. We are committed to continuously improve our corporate responsibility program and encourage our business partners to do the same. We actively seek collaboration opportunities with like-minded organizations to further the application and acceptance of sustainability.
Measuring progress
Each year the Board of ubeon sets new targets to improve our CR performance and communicates transparently on the progress made in the past year, using the CoP-procedure (Communication of Progress) of the UN Global Compact.
